You'll be asked about your medical background, lifestyle and current stresses. You will also be assessed standing, seated and/or laying down to understand more about your alignment.
We may even start treatment in this session depending on the severity.

Treatment
No matter the complexities of your case, every effort will be made to ensure
your symptoms are treated sufficiently/efficiently.
Your treatment will be personalised to you. Several techniques may be used including massage, joint mobilisation, manipulation and articulation techniques. The aim is to unlock the body’s healing processes to your condition.
Aftercare
You will be advised on exercise, posture and relaxation methods to help you maintain the progress we make in the sessions and prevent a reoccurance of the injury.

What can osteopathy treat?As osteopathy is a discipline that treats the whole person, rather than a set of symptoms, it can be used to help treat a wide range of problems including: neck pain, sciatica and trapped nerves, muscle spasms, back pain, neuralgia, fibromyalgia, arthritic pain, joint pain and stiffness, digestive issues, lumbago, stress and tension, sports injuries, rheumatic pain and tennis elbow.

How many sessions will I need?This will all dependon the severity of your issue and the general condition of your health. After your initial consultation we will map out how many sessions you will need, but we always try to keep the number of sessions you'll need to a minimum so that you can return to your normal lifestyle as quickly as possible.

How much is an appointment?Prices vary depending on the type of appointment. Please refer to the pricing outlined above.

What happens if I miss an appointment?Understandably, sometimes the unexpected happens and you might not be able to make your appointment. The sooner you can let us know the chances are we'll be able to re-arrange your appointment, however, cancellations within 24 hours will be subject to a cancellation fee.

Is parking available?Parking is available on the driveway. If there are no free spaces or access is blocked with cones, then please park along the road. Roadside parking is all free. Please be mindful of neighbouring driveways.

What should I wear?During examination and treatment it may be necessary to remove some if not all of your outer clothing, so that postural contours can be observed and specific areas related to the cause of your condition, can be treated. It is therefore advised to wear undergarments like shorts and/or a sports bra that allows ample access to the symptomatic area. Feel free to bring your own towel for comfort and privacy.

Can I be chaperoned?Yes, absolutely, but its not something that we provide. You are welcome to bring your own chaperone to the appointment.

Do you treat children?Yes certainly. We treat children from the age of 6. The only thing we ask is for all children under 16 to be accompanied by a responsible adult or guardian.

Are you registered?Yes, Neil is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and the Institute of Osteopathy (iO). His number is 8923. All Osteopaths have well established training programmes adhering to strict ethical guidelines that operate in much the same way that the GMC regulates doctors.

Can I reclaim costs on my health insurance?Some health cashback providers will cover treatment provided by a GOsC registered Osteopath. But please do check with your provider before booking to see if the full fee will be covered.
